Using the latest equipment and technology, we can restore your alloys to their original condition. We use advanced colour coding and our skilled technicians can perform split rim wheel repairs and other clever wheel refurbishments for added convenience. If your alloys are looking a little worse for wear, don't worry. Come and talk to us at Auto Dynamics in Sheffield and we'll help you get more life out of your wheels.
Our process is as follows:
  1. We strip the wheels completely of it's original coatings/laquers to expose the bare metal of the wheel.

  2. Any sanding/filing/filling that may be required is then carried out.

  3. Wheels are shotblasted to create a nice bonding surface ready for application of primer/paint. Any corrosion that may be present is also eliminated during this process.

  4. Wheels are now ready for painting. First the wheels are heated to 200 degrees for 30 minutes. This ensures any trapped moisture and gases are expelled from the wheel. A powder coat primer is then applied and wheel is returned to the oven for a further 20 minutes for curing.

  5. Wheels are removed from oven and the basecoat is applied in the finish of your choice. For this we use waterbased paints as the choice of colours available is huge. Once applied, the wheel is returned to the oven for a further 20 minutes to cure.

  6. The wheels are now ready for the all important laquer. For this, we use an acrylic powder clear laquer which is extremely clear (not polyester, as this can have a slightly yellow appearance). Once applied, the final cure in the oven takes 20 minutes. Your wheels are now ready to be fitted to your tyres.
